MISSION, SCOPE AND AIMS OF DEATHCARE UK
 
The UK Joint Committee for the Deathcare Industry (Deathcare UK) is the new national umbrella organisation for UK professional, industry and trade associations and institutions involved with all aspects of provision for the disposal of the dead.   The BSIA is pleased to be associated with this exciting new initiative.
 
MISSION
 
The promotion of best practice in the provision and management of facilities and services for the disposal of the dead.
 
SCOPE
 
Provision of cemeteries, crematoria and mortuaries.
Facility management and maintenance.
Design, production and installation of memorials.
Provision of funeral services (including the provision of vehicles and services).
Production and supply of all materials (including plant, equipment, tools, memorials, soft and hard landscaping, etc.) associated with deathcare services.
Industry self-regulation of quality and standards associated with the provision of deathcare services.
 
AIMS
 
To produce best practice documents and specifications.
To support best practice documents and initiatives produced by others.
To promote best practice documents and initiatives produced or adopted by Deathcare UK to everyone involved in the deathcare industry by the dissemination of information.
To raise the profile of Deathcare UK.
